FAQs

  • What should I know before climbing the tower?

With 203 steps, the climb up Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse can be strenuous for certain people. Guests should not attempt the climb unless they are in good physical condition. You should also wear closed toed-shoes with non-slip soles. High-heeled shoes, sandals and flip flops are not recommended. Guests should use the handrails at all times during the climb.
  • Are there any special tours available?

The Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association offers a pair of special interest tours for guests who want a more intimate experience. The "Climb to the Moon" and "Climb with Keeper" tours each provide access to normally restricted areas. Advance registration is required, and each tour costs $25 per person.
