Festivals and Events to Make Any Vacation Memorable

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 29, 2019) — The sparkling shoreline of Daytona Beach is a terrific destination for those planning a summer trip. This historic destination, which plays host to nesting sea turtles during the summer, beckons travelers of all ages to enjoy watersports, premiere shopping and a variety of oceanfront dining options.

Visitors who plan a stay at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort during summer months will find no shortage of lively events that will make their vacation even more memorable.  But if you just want to hang at the resort, every Saturday there's the Malibu Pool Party featuring rum specials, door prizes and live entertainment.  On Sunday's it's the WET Pool Party featuring Absolut specials, door prizes and entertainment—all complimentary for hotel guests ($25 for non-guests, must be 21 or older).

HIGHLIGHT SUMMER EVENTS:

Bandshell Summer Concert Series & Fireworks

This packed slate of free concerts — 42 shows from May 25 to Sept. 28 — features a remarkable array of tribute acts encompassing such disparate artists as Billy Joel, Metallica, Prince, Motown and The Grateful Dead. Some dates are double bills, like Vertigo (U2) and Original Sin (INXS) on July 19. Shows run every Friday and Saturday night, and there are bonus concerts on Memorial Day Weekend (Sun., May 26); Independence Day (Tues., July 4); and Labor Day Weekend (Sun. and Mon., Sept. 1-2). Thirteen dates feature post-show fireworks.

Daytona Tortugas Baseball

Daytona Beach's own Class A-Advance minor league team, an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, plays games in a historic ballpark that first opened as City Island Ballpark in 1914.

Venue: Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark

 

CEO 2019 Gaming Championships

Players and fans from 45 states and 35 countries converge on one of the largest fighting gaming conventions in the world. Fans can expect competitions in Street Fighter, Tekken, Super Smash Bros. and more.

Coke Zero Sugar 400

Daytona does what Daytona does — a major NASCAR event at Daytona International Speedway. The event starts on Independence Day with preliminary festivities, including a midway, followed by the Circle K Firecracker 250 (100 laps) on Friday, July 5, then culminating with the main event, the 61st running of the 160-lap Coke Zero Sugar 600. Country artist Michael Ray performs a pre-race concert.

23rd Annual Halifax Summer Regatta

Top rowing teams from the Southeast will compete on this 1,000-meter Halifax River course just south of the Veterans Memorial Bridge. Junior rowers race on Saturday, masters and adaptive rowers on Sunday. Admission is free.

Climb to the Moon!

Climb Florida's tallest lighthouse and take in breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, the World's Most Famous Beach, Ponce Inlet, coastal wetlands and other sights.

Admission: $30 for Preservation Association members, $35 for non-members
